World of Masks

I'm a regular visitor, a sojourner, here in the land of Rune-Midgard (pRO). Rune-Midgard is your typical world, populated by all sorts of people. Despite its being a virtual world where everybody wears a mask (the sprite avatar is a mask), everybody there is his or her true self.

If anybody is a scammer or cheater here, he/she is a scammer or a cheater IRL (in real life). A scammer steals the virtual riches of this virtual world, while a cheater steals the respect and recognition of other people in this world by gaining it through a dishonorable way. Either way, be wary of anybody you know IRL who is a scammer or cheater in Rune-Midgard. He/she is only waiting for the opportunity to scam or cheat you IRL.

There are also good samaritans here in Rune-Midgard, people who help strangers when they can. I've been the recepient of the help of total strangers a few times already. In Rune-Midgard, giving help freely to strangers has no reward or recognition. Sometimes, derision will even be the giver's reward. Yet when push comes to shove, this will be the person who helps you in times of trouble.

IRL, people wear invisible masks to hide their bad intentions or to protect their soft hearts. It gets so that you never really know anybody unless you've known him/her for years. Paradoxically, you'll know what a person is about a few minutes after meeting him/her in this world of masks.

So, who am I? Sorry, you'll have to meet me first in Rune-Midgard, the virtual world, to know the real me. Out here, in the real world, I wear a mask.

Spoke too soon...

One hour after my last post (Playing Hooky), my boss called me. She told me I have to go to the office and do something for her. It makes you wonder how they managed before you came along (And somehow they did). :-/

Playing Hooky

I'm sick.

I've been sick for more than a week before today but it was only last Friday that I took the morning part of the day off. Then I didn't go to work on Saturday. And I didn't go to work today.

Sometimes you wonder if the world will go on without you. In my case, it did. What a relief.
