Hard times have come

I entered this world with nothing, I leave this world with nothing. The LORD gives and the LORD takes away. Blessed is the name of the LORD.

Shall we receive only blessing from the LORD and not hardship?

- Job the Patient

One of the hardest things to accept in life is difficulty and hardship. It's easy to "have faith" when things are good. I think, for the next few months or years, my faith will be tested. People forget that while good times are "nice", we shouldn't pursue good times more than we should pursue compassion, fairness and humility. If there is such a thing as "false idols" in good luck charms it is this: that we worship good luck or good things to the point that we forget other more important things like family, like the future, like the environment and so on.

Nobody likes hard times but we shouldn't chase good times as if it was the only reason for life.

Lead me not into temptation

One of the reasons I put off upgrading (read: buy a brand new computer) the office computer is because I know I'll be strongly tempted to install Ragnarok Online into the new computer. The old computer wasn't able to handle running the game so installing a method of cyber-loafing in my office was never a temptation, then.

Now, the upgraded office computer constantly begs me to install the game into it. A new era of cyber-loafing might begin very soon. /wah
